I love fireflies and am so happy to be seeing them again this year.

That’s fine, keep knowing shit, rock on!
But if you don’t know, don’t act like you do. Don’t tell someone – with gusto – that their idea or thought is wrong or can’t be done, and then give them some dumb ass, non-answer answers when they question why so that they can understand for now and in the future. This makes them question further, and you would save time, energy, and frustration for both parties if you simply fucking admit that you don’t know.
It is absolutely fine not to know. Be ok with that fact, and push yourself to learn more. It is much more detrimental to pretend that you know rather than admit you don’t. You can solve lack of knowledge. You can’t solve ignorance or ego.
Oh, and this especially applies to you acting like you know based on any sort of assumption about other people’s thoughts or actions (that you haven’t witnessed).
Today’s lesson: Pretending that you know? Asshole. Admitting that you don’t know? Exemplary human being.
That is all. Have a wonderful evening!

If you are drunk and get bit by a mosquito, does the mosquito also get drunk? Does he fly home all cock-eyed and wobbly and shit and his wife yells at him for not being more careful about where he eats??

What exactly is the function of the Adam’s apple, current or past?

I have a pretty good tolerance for pain or discomfort. But. It is ridiculously difficult, once you notice a mosquito on you, to sit there and let him do his thing and then fly away. (I have been told this prevents the itchy bump from forming, and testing thus far supports that!)

Random memory time!
Forever ago, I saw an ad for Celebrex, an anti-inflammatory drug. The narrator at one point says, “A body in motion stays in motion.” This was a cute little reminder to people to keep moving before you can’t because of your condition. Phsyics aside, I think of that quote often, even though i first saw that years and years ago. I try to use it to remind myself that I need to get up and move to keep my condition from getting the better of me.
I was just sitting here and that popped in my head and I realized it’s the one useful thing I ever got from a drug company and didn’t have to pay for. i could rant for pages about the evil of pharmaceutical companies, but I won’t. Today, I would just like to thank whoever wrote that commercial and the drug company that paid for it. 😊

Some days, life is kinda like pulling teeth from an angry alligator. and he hasn’t eaten in a couple of days. and you remind him of his last handler, who was a big jerk, so he really doesn’t like you. and you have a headache.

Sometimes, I am paralyzed by my own curiosity.

Why do they put mirrors behind bars? I mean, who wants to watch themselves get wasted? And speaking of, one of my favorite movie moments is in Phenomenon where John Travolta’s character breaks a mirror (behind a bar) with his mind when he’s angry.
