Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?
Yes and yes.
I took a few acting classes in college, was in a production of The Vagina Monologues, and presented a research paper to peers and faculty.
Each time, I was nervous as hell, but once I started speaking, the world just sorta vanished and I had a laser focus on whatever piece I was delivering. They were all amazing experiences.
What was your favorite subject in school?
Pretty much anything science related. If it involved the inner workings of anything, I was in. Biology, chemistry, physics, and any subset of those three, didn’t matter. Earth science was cool too, but not as utterly fascinating.
Do you need time?
Or a need of time.
In any case, I don’t know that anyone “needs” time. Time just is…. You can’t have any more or less than your life allows. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for however many years you live. The measurement and perhaps experience of time may simply be a human construct, but it does exist and is the same for everyone and everything. Relatively speaking, of course.
Could I use more time? Or the ability to stop time for the world while I sort some shit out? Absolutely. But I can’t really need more of something that perpetuates itself. Time is there, regardless (unless you are a photon, apparently). What matters is how you use it.
If you feel that you need more time, examine how you are spending this insanely valuable currency, and adjust that to fit the real priorities.
Is there an age or year of your life you would re-live?
This seriously depends.
Do I know what I know now? If so, I would relive the year that I was 15.
If not, it would be some point in my early-mid 20s – as in 22-25. I have new ideas.
But, to be honest, it doesn’t matter, because I can’t do that. The past is gone. Done. Over. The only thing we can do with it is enjoy the memories, learn the lessons, and move on. Sure, it’s great to speculate, but only for a moment because anything more takes us away from the now.
And now is the only thing that really matters.
What does it mean to be a kid at heart?
To ask questions without considering what others will think of it, or you.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that I am an extremely emotional person. Most people will tell you that I am laid back, easy going. I am adaptable, that is a fact, but that doesn’t change the fact that I experience emotions to a much higher degree than anyone realizes. Most people don’t see or feel the signs and signals from my internal environment, mostly because I have fine tuned the art of hiding them or minimizing them. Is this healthy behavior? Not likely. Is this a coping mechanism? Quite likely. Am I working on striking a balance between authenticity and emotional chaos? Absolutely.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Keep it as simple as possible.
This has been a bit of a tough lesson, especially with certain things, but I have learned that simplicity is key. The Occam’s razor principle can and perhaps should almost always be applied.

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.
Well, this is a bit of a loaded question since hindsight is 20/20 and I don’t think I know a single person who would not want the opportunity to be better prepared for things. Having said that….
I wish I knew earlier in life that not everyone is going to work, play, and/or love as hard or as much as you do, and that it is unfair to expect yourself from other people. Had I known that from the get go, I could have saved myself a lot of stress, pain, and frustration.
What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?
Rudeness
No explanation. If you are rude to others, especially for no reason, that is a huge red flag. Kindness is free. If you can’t constantly utilize it, that’s an issue.
