People are funny creatures, for a variety of reasons. But the strangest to me is their tendency to not listen in an effort to be heard. It doesn’t make sense.

Sometimes, people just fucking irritate me, and I really wish I didn’t have a problem being a rude, mean bitch.

Why all the emphasis on blame?

Does anyone else in the world feel stuck at a certain age in their mind? In my head, I see myself as a 23 year old, the extra years are just… there. It’s kinda odd and I wonder if other people experience the same thing, and why it happens.

I get text alerts from the town I live in, and I got one this morning that got me thinkin. We’re in the middle of a snowstorm, and the town offices and court are closed today. Garbage pickup, however, remains operational and on the normal schedule.
Basically, all the people who are inside and warm all day get a day off, but the people who are out in the cold, driving giant trucks around picking up our trash have to work regardless of the fact that there’s a few inches of snow on the ground. The guys driving the plows and salt trucks also have to work.
I just can’t help but wonder, what the actual fuck? It brings back the idea of essential workers during covid. The truly necessary people in this world are not the ones who sit in offices all day staring at a computer screen. The truly necessary people are the ones who do the work that no one else wants to in order for society to operate and the rest of us to be comfortable, and quite honestly, a bit lazy. Now, for the record, I say this as one of those people who sits at a computer all day. I am not truly necessary by my own definition; I acknowledge and accept that.
I think that as a society, we have our priorities all sorts of wrong. I have seen or heard people treat/speak of these types of workers as lesser people just because they have manual labor jobs, which is bullshit. We idolize and throw money at movie stars, sports figures, and pay our politicians insane amounts of money. And ya know what? Not a single fucking one of those people does a damn thing to help you with day to day life. So, again, what the fuck?

Why do people think they have an unquestionable right to judge other people?

Sometimes, I have so many things I want to write about, but no idea where to start. It’s the most frustrating thing in the world.

What would it be like if our brains weren’t so freaking phenomenal and efficient and block out shit we don’t actually need to hear/see/feel? What would it be like to actively feel every ring on our fingers, be acutely aware of every noise in our environment, and see every miniscule detail from our entire field of vision?

Why are some smart people so fucking dumb?

I was talking to a couple of people today (at different times, mind you!) about musical taste, and the fact that a good part of what I prefer to listen to is hard, fast, growling metal. It’s just awesome in my opinion, for so many reasons. It’s raw emotion, and can even be cathartic at times, not just an outlet.
The topic of all time favorite bands came up, and mine is Tool. I started thinking about it, and while some of their songs are angry, it’s not in the way most people think of angry metal music. It’s a more controlled, thoughtful angry, if that makes any sense. I like that.
Random and kinda not related, but this line of thought reminds me of something my dad once told me. If someone gets in your face and is screaming and all red and puffed up, they’re trying to be threatening but aren’t really dangerous. If someone is angry and speaks quietly, and is completely calm, that’s when you have to worry.
So, yeah, Tool. Thoughtful anger. My kinda thing.
Have a great night!
