I remember things after anesthesia sometimes. Twice that I can remember, and the details are fuzzy, but I remember hearing conversation about me when I was laying there, and then I remember actually fully waking up later on. No real sense of time between the events, or knowledge of who was talking. So strange.

How was the government funded before income taxes? And on that note, did the government waste as much money back then?
