Sometimes, I have so many things I want to write about, but no idea where to start. It’s the most frustrating thing in the world.

What would it be like if our brains weren’t so freaking phenomenal and efficient and block out shit we don’t actually need to hear/see/feel? What would it be like to actively feel every ring on our fingers, be acutely aware of every noise in our environment, and see every miniscule detail from our entire field of vision?

Why are some smart people so fucking dumb?

For a little bit when I was a kid, maybe 11 years old, I was fascinated, and borderline obsessed with, the idea of spontaneous human combustion. I read everything I could find on the topic for a few months, and even spent an afternoon at the library trying to research it.

I remember things after anesthesia sometimes. Twice that I can remember, and the details are fuzzy, but I remember hearing conversation about me when I was laying there, and then I remember actually fully waking up later on. No real sense of time between the events, or knowledge of who was talking. So strange.
