I was a Trump supporter. He did some awesome things in office, and has some great ideas….when he’s not speaking and thinking with his ego. But when it comes to 2024, he needs to just let it go.
Him running again is just going to further divide the country. There comes a time when you have to accept reality, and that reality is that Trump cannot, with all his political and legal challenges, win the presidency without irreparably dividing the country. Yes, he has great ideas. Get out of China. Be energy independent. Have strong borders. He is also a bit of a jack ass and doesn’t always speak with enough tact. But. There are people out there who hate him enough to vote for the massive train wreck that is referred to as Biden just because Trump is running. This will take away from the real issue at hand. And that is, what is best for the country? Trump needs to stop for a second, consider that, and step aside. My two cents.
What it really boils down to, and what I think Trump needs to realize is that he did succeed. He planted the seeds. People are thinking about the things that he said, and those who are not hardcore left may even see the validity. Trump appealed to many people, which is how he became President in the first place. But then, I think he let is ego go a bit much, and that pushed away those who agreed, but maybe couldn’t tolerate his public persona. See the above about people hating him enough to vote for Biden again.
One of the reasons I voted for Trump to begin with is the fact that he was *not* a politician. Plus, the debates for the primary were freaking hilarious. But seriously, he is a businessman, and a successful one. And at that point, I felt that was what we needed. Someone with some sense of fiscal responsibility and someone who knows how to be freaking profitable. Because the US is not, flat out. Running a trade deficit every year and increasing debt year over year is not good business.
Regardless, politicians on all sides can go suck an egg as far as I’m concerned. Most of them lie to get elected, and then do whatever suits them and their goals. And to that end, everyone, and I mean everyone that holds office in DC needs to just go. Especially the career politicians. Aside from the fact that being in government was never meant to be a career, I think that most of them are in it for the wrong reasons. The Nancy Pelosi’s, the Kevin McCarthy’s…. they couldn’t give a shit less about the struggles that you and I face every day, because they are not their struggles. When was the last time you heard about a DC politician losing sleep over possibly not being able to make their rent/mortgage payment?? Oh, that’s right, you don’t. And why? Because each of them make at least 5.6 times more than the average American, and 2.4 times more than the average American household. Seriously, think about that.
When are we going to wake up??
